After Ayotzinapa. The Case of 43 Disappeared Students in Mexico

September 14, 2022
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
America/New_York
Barnard Hall, 3009 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 Sulzberger Parlor, 3rd Floor

In 2014, students from the Ayotzinapa rural college in Guerrero, Mexico, were attacked by police. Forty-three of them disappeared and were never seen again. Corruption and impunity turned the government investigation into a coverup, igniting a national political scandal. The students are among the estimated 100,000 victims of forced disappearance in Mexico today.

Produced by the National Security Archive and Reveal News of the Center for Investigative Reporting, After Ayotzinapa is a podcast that explores the unresolved case. Join us for a discussion of the podcast, the Ayotzinapa case, and the crisis of forced disappearance in Mexico.

The event will be in-person with broadcast via YouTube.

In-person participants must register here to be able to attend. Vaccine attestation is needed for all in-person participants (CDC card).
