Ajay Chaudry will join Professor Ester R. Fuchs for a conversation about issues in early care and childhood education in the United States, and ways to address deficiencies through policy solutions.
Ester Fuchs is a professor of international and public affairs and political science at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and is the director of Urban and Social Policy Program.
Ajay Chaudry, Ph.D. is a research scholar at New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Services. He conducts policy research on child poverty, children’s well-being and development, the social safety net, and immigration. Chaudry served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Human Services Policy at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2012-15) in the Obama Administration, and as Deputy Commissioner for Early Childhood Programs at the NYC Administration for Children Services (2004-06). He received his A.B. from Columbia University, and M.P.P. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
