Having trouble finding the data you need for your project? This workshop will describe the open government data landscape and give you tools to learn how to efficiently find social sciences-oriented data sources to suit your needs. By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Become familiar with different types of openly available government data and the context of domain and agency-specific repositories.
  • Understand how to access publically available data as well as data available through Columbia University Libraries.
  • Gain experience in analyzing the characteristics of a dataset.
