In this in-person* workshop, there will be a basic overview of the Garageband software interface. Garageband is a great introductory tool for digital music production, as it is included free on all Mac computers, and it has the ability to create fully realized, professional-sounding music. Topics covered will include creating a new project, using software instruments to create music, recording live music performance, basic mixing, and exporting your final track. No prior musical or audio editing experience required.
(* Can't make the in-person session? A Zoom version of this workshop will be offered on 12/13/21 at 6pm; click Workshops link below for further details.)
No prior experience is required. Bringing your laptop with GarageBand installed is recommended, but not required.
Taught by John Levee, graduate student in the MFA Sound Art program.
Open to CU students, faculty, and staff. Valid GreenPass is required for entry to Dodge Hall. The workshop will be held in the Seminar Room of the Music & Arts Library, 701 Dodge.
