Intro to GarageBand (in-person)

February 8, 2022
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
America/New_York
Dodge Hall, 2960 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 Gabe M. Wiener Music & Arts Library

In this workshop, there will be a basic overview of the Garageband software interface. Garageband is a great introductory tool for digital music production and audio editing, as it comes already installed on Apple computers, and it has the ability to create fully realized music and audio works. Topics covered will include creating a new project, recording software instruments, recording live music performance, editing audio, basic mixing, and exporting your final track. No prior musical or audio editing experience required.

Bringing your laptop with Garageband installed is recommended, but not required.

This workshop is taught by John Thomas Levee. He is an artist and composer, who is currently pursuing his MFA in Sound Art at Columbia University.

A repeat of this session will also be offered on Thu 4/28, 7-8pm (via Zoom)
