NOTE: This workshop will be held in-person, in the Music & Arts Library, 701 Dodge.
In this workshop, there will be a basic overview of the Unreal Engine 4 software interface. Unreal Engine 4 is a powerful tool for designing video games, and can be used to many ends in the production of both games and other interactive experiences. Topics covered in this workshop will include creating a new project, designing an environment, and implementing basic gameplay mechanics. No prior experience is required.
Bringing your laptop with UE4 installed is recommended, but not required. It is free to download and use for non-commercial applications and educational use.
This workshop is part of a three-part mini-series, which also includes an introduction to video game sound design and the use of the middleware program FMOD. Attendance at other workshops in this series is recommended, but not required.
This workshop is taught by John Thomas Levee. He is an artist and composer, who is currently pursuing his MFA in Sound Art at Columbia University.
