Listening. Entering dialogue. Building trust.

In response to recent conflicts at Columbia University, the Trust Collaboratory leads the Listening Tables campaign to chart a new compact for dialogue and understanding on campus. Listening is a fundamental prerequisite for better conversations, empathy for others, and trust. This experiential initiative puts front and center learning by engaging with different viewpoints, mutual understanding, and a commitment to the principles of pluralism and tolerance. We invite you to join this experiment and help us redefine how we, as a large and diverse community, can navigate conflict better and engage each other with respect and openness.

Our event schedule will be continuously updated with new dates and locations. To find out more about locations and times and how to volunteer as a host or attend, click here.

We invite faculty, students, and staff to host and attend Listening Tables. All members of the campus community can walk in and join the conversation. We encourage registering before a session to better support the work of our hosts, particularly if you are a larger group.

Please note that you will require a Columbia email address to register to host a table.
