WE REGRET THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. Please join us for a talk by Darryl B. Hill, Professor at the College of Staten Island and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. The historical record of the famous Russian physiologist Ivan P. Pavlov is filled with errors. Controversies center on arguments about his American visit, avoidance of his controversial support of research on children, the inaccurate portrayal of his research in American psychology textbooks, and most confounding, the omission of his women collaborators. This talk reviews the mistaken representations of Pavlov, offers a multifaceted theory as to why they occur, and derives lessons for a new global history.
