Morningside Lights is a free weeklong arts event led by the directors of Processional Arts Workshop, Alex Kahn and Sophia Michahelles, and produced by Columbia University's Arts Initiative and Miller Theatre. Help create a fleet of lanterns during a week of workshops that will culminate in an illuminated procession of public art in Morningside Park. Harlem's deep tradition of civic activism blossoms in the thriving gardens carefully cultivated in its many reclaimed spaces. Join us as we illuminate Morningside Park and the Columbia University campus with a community-created lantern procession inspired by these horticultural gems and the resourceful visionaries that tend them.
