Joe Karaganis will discuss the development of the Open Syllabus Project, a large-scale syllabus datamining project based at Columbia. The OSP has been exploring what can be learned from and built with millions of syllabi. So far, the answers include the development of new resources for teaching, libraries, and the Open Access/OER communities, as well as the invention of a new publication metric. Future work includes efforts to compare, and analyze curricula across institutions and countries, and over time. To see how often your own work is taught, try your luck here: http://explorer.opensyllabusproject.org/
