Please join the East Central European Center and the Harriman Institute for a talk with Wojciech Michnik, Assistant Professor at American University in the Emirates. In this talk, Michnik will discuss the changing political climate in Poland that has lead to a transformation of Polish foreign policy since the elections of 2015. By rejecting European Union refugee policy, starting the so-called Three Seas Initiative and aligning itself with Euroscepticism (from Hungary and the United Kingdom), Poland signaled a stark departure from its previous tradition of foreign policy. As a result, Poland has found itself at odds with major European powers (Germany, France) in a time of EU crisis.
