Nora Lewis and Peter DeCherney will discuss University of Pennsylvania’s strategy and
vision for online learning initiatives and the newly launched online undergraduate
degree, the Penn LPS Online Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) program.
Nora Lewis is the Vice Dean for Professional and Liberal Education, and has been a
member of the full-time professional staff in the School of Arts and Sciences since 1993.
Prior to becoming Vice Dean, she was Executive Director of the College of Liberal and
Professional Studies (LPS). She has also served as Executive Director of LPS and interim
director of Penn's English Language Programs.
Peter DeCherney is Professor of Cinema & Media Studies and English at the University
of Pennsylvania. He holds a secondary appointment at the Annenberg School for
Communication and an affiliation with the Center for Technology, Innovation, and
Competition at Penn Law School. He is the Faculty Director of Penn’s campus-wide
Online Learning Initiative and Director of the Cinema & Media Studies Program.
