A talk by social activist Beverly Gooden, creator of the #WhyIStayed hashtag and global movement. Gooden will discuss the complex factors that may keep people in abusive relationships and challenges the question “Why did they stay?” Discussion will include her personal story, reveals the most important questions to ask victims and ways to help address this critical community issue. Presented by Sexual Violence Reponse (SVR), as part of Relationship Violence Awareness Month. Co-Sponsored by the Columbia University Ombuds Office.
