EPD Workshop in Development Practice: Final Presentations

The student teams in SIPA's Workshop in Development Practice have been working this year with twenty-one clients in twenty-four countries on cutting-edge projects supporting entrepreneurship and employment, innovative finance and mobile technology, food security and universal basic income, gender, education, health, humanitarian assistance, governance, and promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals. The teams will present highlights of their work in a conference at SIPA on April 26th and April 27th. Workshop clients, faculty advisers, members of the Columbia/SIPA community, SIPA alumni and the general public are warmly invited and encouraged to attend any sessions of interest. The Workshop in Development Practice is sponsored by the Economic and Political Development Concentration. This year's workshop clients include: Asian Women Social Entrepreneurs Network (Indonesia and Vietnam), Center for Strategic Development (Saudi Arabia), Covenant House International (Nicaragua), EA Consultants (Mexico), Frutas e Legumes/AGRIECO/Ubuntu Foundation (Guinea Bissau), Fundación Corona (Colombia), Hway Ka Loke Boarding School (Thailand), Instituto República (Brazil), International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity (Rwanda), Jain Family Institute (California), Model UN – New Silk Way (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan), Orbis International (India), Self-Employed Women’s Association (India), TechnoServe (Guatemala and Nicaragua), The Hunger Project (Ethiopia, Malawi and Uganda), UN Capital Development Fund (Vietnam), UN Development Programme (Armenia and Kyrgyzstan), UN High Commissioner for Refugees (Jordan), WARC Group (Sierra Leone), Women’s Refugee Commission (Jordan and Uganda), and World Food Programme’s Centre of Excellence Against Hunger (Brazil, Benin, Senegal and Togo). In addition to attending any final workshop presentations of interest, please join us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the workshop at our reception on April 30th, starting at 5 pm on the 15th floor of the International Affairs Building.
