Please join the Ukrainian Film Club of Columbia University for a screening of the film Vulcano (2018) as part of the Fall 2018 Olena Yershova Retrospective Film Series at Columbia. Vulcano, directed by Roman Bondarchuk, is a tongue-in-cheek take on the Southern Ukrainian steppe and its denizens, fascinating, weird, unpredictable, and endearing at the same time. This is the land where operation Russia Spring found its ignominious end in 2014. The film contains some truly beautiful cinematography that is as memorable as it is breathtaking.
