Are transnational affiliations dangerous to democracy? Thea Renda Abu El-Haj, associate professor of education, challenges this assumption and draws on her work with Palestinian-American youth in this lecture regarding the creative, flexible practices of transnational “citizenship” that develop from conditions of migration, mobility, and ambiguity.
