Please join for a panel discussion with: Joshua Wong, Hong Kong student activist and politician; Secretary General Pro-democracy movement Demosistō Kai Ping (Brian) Leung, Graduate student, Department of Political Science, University of Washington The talk will focus on the “Anti-Extradition Law Movement” in Hong Kong as the discussants try to analyze the following themes: the structural cause of the movement, why the movement has been so resilient, and the international status of Hong Kong vis-a-vis the world and China. About the Speaker: Joshua Wong is a student activist. He is the secretary-general of pro-democracy party Demosistō. Time Magazine named him one of the 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014. Fortune Magazine named him one of the “Worlds’ 50 Greatest Leaders of 2015.
