Please join us for a roundtable discussion moderated by Professor Tanya Domi (Columbia/SIPA). This is a precipitous moment in Balkan history as the European Union weighs the accession candidacies of North Macedonia and Albania with decisions pending before the German Bundestag that are likely to influence outcomes in Brussels. Additional strains in the region are evident in the current standstill present in the Serbia Kosovo agreement negotiations which has been fraught with tension for months. Bosnia has yet to have formed a government nearly a year after the October 2018 elections. All of these events are taking place against a backdrop of social unrest across the region as citizens have been taking to the streets in protest in Serbia and Montenegro for months. Speakers: Moderator: Tanya Domi (Columbia/SIPA) Jasmin Hasić, Assistant Professor at Sarajevo School of Science and Technology Ivana Jordanovska, Fulbright Fellow at New York University Dženeta Karabegović, researcher and lecturer at the University of Salzburg Agon Maliqi a policy analyst, civil society activist and media writer from Prishtina, Kosovo Molly Montgomery, Vice President in Albright Stonebridge Group’s Europe practice Toby Vogel, a writer on foreign affairs based in Brussels
