October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month-- Columbia University’s fall 2019 Blood Drive Campaign is dedicated to increasing awareness of this disease and providing support to cancer patients as well as others in need of donated blood. Cancer patients are the number one recipient of blood because of the loss they encounter during surgery, or in order to compensate for the side effects of chemotherapy drugs they receive.
