About guest speaker Vincent Emanuele: Dr. Vincent Emanuele is the Co-Founder and CTO of Embedded Intelligence (EI), a Machine Intelligence R&D company located in the Washington, DC metro area. Prior to EI, Vince was Head of Data Science at Wellcentive, a startup company focused on healthcare analytics. During his tenure at Wellcentive, Vince oversaw the research, design, and implementation of several game changing machine learning systems in Wellcentive’s software platform. These machine learning systems include deep learning neural net- works and ensemble classifiers. Wellcentive had a successful exit and was acquired by Philips in 2016. Vince has spent an extensive amount of time in the community mentoring aspiring data scientists of all skill levels and career maturity. As Co-Founder of the 501(c)(3) organization Anidata, he helped train data scientists in Atlanta by engaging in projects pro bono that benefit community needs, such as the fight against human trafficking. In 2015, Vince was named Alumni Mentor of the Year at Georgia Tech, chosen from among 1200 mentor-mentee pairings. He remains committed to growing the next generation of data science talent that will make a difference in our society. Vince received a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech. His research involved the application of wavelets and neural networks to interpret data in highthroughput mass spectrometry experiments studying cervical cancer.
