Speaker: Sachin Gathani, Managing Partner, Laterite and SIPA Alumnus (Class of 2009) In his talk, Sachin will discuss recent insights from a nationally-representative study on dropout and repetition in Rwanda and experiments with machine learning techniques. About Laterite: Laterite is a data, research and technical advisory firm that helps clients understand and analyse complex development challenges. About the speaker: Sachin is one of Laterite's Founding Partners and specialises in public sector strategic consulting, project management, and public policy. Born and raised in East Africa, Sachin studied and worked in the US and Latin America for more than 10 years before moving back to the region. He has undergraduate degrees in Political Economy and Business from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters in International Affairs (Economic Policy & African Studies) from Columbia University. Prior to establishing Laterite, Sachin worked for the World Bank Group in Kenya, as a management consultant for several US State Governments, and as a consultant for Booz & Co in South Sudan. He also has led studies for government agencies in Djibouti and Colombia.
