2017 is the quincentennial of the publication of Martin Luther’s Ninety-five Theses. Intended as an invitation to a theological debate, the Theses and their aftermath sparked a period of unprecedented cultural upheaval, dividing Europe and giving rise unexpectedly and unintentionally to many features of the modern, secular West. Panelists will reflect on Luther and the Reformation’s significance from a variety of historical and contemporary perspectives.
