In observance of World Health Day 2026, Columbia University, in conjunction with our community partner, Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will host its annual Bone Marrow Donor Recruitment Drive to raise awareness about being a stem cell donor and celebrate the impact of blood stem cell transplantation on patients’ lives. This year, our drive carries an added sense of urgency. A member of our extended alumni community has a loved one currently awaiting a life-saving match through the registry. Their story is a powerful reminder that behind every search is a real person, a real family, and a real hope for a second chance.
